JACOB BOODEN

Hey, I’m Jacob Booden. I am a former professional pitcher with the St. Louis Cardinals. Was I highly scouted out of high school? No. Was I drafted out of college? No. Was I able to persevere through adversity, self doubt and create an opportunity for myself that some only dream of? Yes.

I am from the northern suburbs of Chicago and currently reside in Minneapolis, MN. Back in 2008, I signed my letter of intent to play baseball at Bradley University, where I went on to play for 4 years. Upon graduating from Bradley, I signed with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2012 as an UDFA (Undrafted Free Agent) which is when my professional career began. I played for 4 seasons in their minor league system. Throughout my journey I experienced highs and lows, won championships, created some of the best memories, gained an unbelievable amount of knowledge, but most importantly, I discovered my love for the game and myself.

Why did I start Defined Baseball Academy? The purpose behind all of this is to bridge the knowledge gap between a professional baseball pitcher and young players and coaches. Working with young athletes for the past 12 years, I have noticed how improper mechanics of throwing a baseball have prohibited players to progress and reach their full potential.

My goal is to create a community where pitchers can come learn the proper way to throw, improve their mental game and become peak performers.
